Grades will be based on attendance at all rehearsals and concerts throughout the quarter.  Students will be allowed one unexcused absence from class each quarter.  All other absences require a note from home showing absence from the entire school day.  For each unexcused absence, ten points will be subtracted from your overall grade. 

Excessive lateness to class can also negatively affect your grade.  After two unexcused tardies, five points will be subtracted from your grade each time you are late to class. 

Absence from a concert will immediately result in thirty points being subtracted from your grade.  If there is an emergency, please call the choral department prior to the concert and leave a message at (703)228-6362.  Serious illness or death in the family are the only excused absences from a concert. 

Throughout the year there will also be small written assignments, quizzes, etc.  These smaller graded assignments will be added in with the overall attendance/participation grade to determine the final grade each quarter.
