Attendance:

In a performance-based class attendance is crucial and the absence is felt much more so than in a regular academic class. Consistent attendance by each member of the ensemble is fundamental to a successful performance ensemble. That being said there is no way to make up a missed rehearsal. Rehearsals are interactive and require participation and effort from every member of the group. We do not accept papers or extra credit work to boost one’s attendance grade.
Performances and concerts are absolutely mandatory! Since this is a performance class, few assignments are given therefore performances are weighed extremely heavily. Missing a concert is the equivalent of missing a final examination. Work commitments or other school activities are not excused absences from these performances. We give plenty of notice prior to all concerts and expect you to make arrangements in order to attend all scheduled performances.
